“For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.”  I Timothy 6:7

Hello Everyone!

I remember reading about an entertainer who loved Cadillac cars.  He owned several. When he died, they buried him in a portion of one of his Cadillacs.  They buried him with a lot of his jewelry and fine clothes.  He died.  They buried him will all of his things.  This was a practice of the ancient Egyptians.  The belief was that they would need these things in the afterlife.  There are stories of slaves being killed and placed in the tombs with their Egyptian owners because they would need servants in the afterlife.  The truth is that “we brought nothing into the world.”  We’re all born naked.  What we do with our lives is very important.  We may amass great wealth or we may struggle to keep the apartment and car that we have.  But when it comes to this world and our lives we must remember that “we can take nothing out of it.”  A few weeks after that entertainer died, those who owned the cemetery dug him up and took as much as they could.  This verse speaks the truth about us and our “earthly” stuff.  We can’t take any of it with us when we die.  But there is something that is not of this world that we will go with us.  I’m not concerned about my “afterlife” because I have the gift of ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ.  With this gift comes the understanding that there is absolutely nothing on earth I would want to take with me.  I have better waiting for me.  Hallelujah!  I pray you do too.  Live the life the Lord has blessed you with to God’s glory.  And never forget that the best is yet to come.

Be blessed because God’s got Us!
