These Core Values are a simple, yet highly visible description of our connection to God, to each other and also to our local and global community. They are a way of saying who we are and that what we believe is important. Now, use your reflection to allow God to speak to you of our identity as a special and unique community of faith.

Congregational Identity
Mission Statement of Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church
Jesus told us, "Go...and Make Disciples." (Matthew 28:18-20)
The Mission Statement is an abbreviation of this, or any other, church's mandate.
Within our disciple-making, Jesus also told us:
- Baptize in the Trinitarian truth of God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit: In baptism, God shows divine initiative to love, claims us as God's own daughters and sons and calls us into discipleship.
- Teach as we have been taught: Disciples are to be nurtured in the faith and within the loving embrace of the community of faith.
The most important truths of the Great Commision are what Jesus said at the beginning and end of our mandate. They stand as brackets to assure the people of God in their Mission of Making Disciples.
At the beginning, Jesus told us that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him as crucified, risen and ascended Lord of Heaven and Earth. The Mission of Making Disciples is his work.
At the close of the mandate he assured us that he is with his church always, to the "close of the age." All we do in living out our mission we do with his presence and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
