LHPC began a mission initiative with Living Waters for the World in 2009 and is currently working with a partner in the small community of San Agustin Acasaguatlan, Guatemala to complete the installation of our first Clean Water system in July 2010.
LHPC's commitment to the Living Water program is a church wide mission program, and offers opportunities for members to participate in funding the project as well as in training and implementing "clean water" installations in Guatemala and other possible locations.
What is this mission? Members of LHPC will be traveling to a poor community in Guatemala to install a filtration system to treat the water so it is safe to drink.
Why is this important? Every year more than 3 million people die from water-related illness. Most are infants and children.
Where will the system be installed? In a church in San Agustín Acasaguastlán (in eastern part of Central Guatemala).
What can you do? Pray for the success of the mission. Donate money. Join our team!
